Right ProgramI would recommend Pronunciation Pattern program to anyone who wants to learn how to pronunce english.I been using lots of different programs in the past and and I quit each one of them becaue they made pronuncing english more harder than it was.Even,if i spent long time to study i gained very little.However Pronunciation Pattern helped me tremondously and i can't mention everything in this short paragraph.It abled me learning to speed of my english pronunciation very quickly.It has been a couple months since i got the program and i can say I learned more than i expected.Also,lessons are presented in a clear logical manner.It is very easy to see and visualize the steps u take so you don't confuse what is what etc.Moreover,It is a complete program where you learn everything there is to know starting how topronunce letter, words until u get the confidence you need to speak english fluently.The last but not the least,the people who work at Pronunciation Pattern are professional and helpful.I called twice and each time my problems were solved happily.:-)

Worked Well for Me!Although I purchased several study aids, including Kaplan GRE Exam in a Box (which I also recommend), this little software package became my primary study tool.
My test prep was focused on the GRE. When I first installed the software and started poking around, the graphics seemed a little too "cutesy". But then I took the initial diagnostic exam, and was given approximate baseline scores which seemed quite reasonable (given that my high school math is about 30 years in the past, and I had done exactly no preparation).
Once the diagnostic is complete, the program builds a study program for you, which you can work through it at your own pace. That helped a great deal. The lessons brought back lots of old knowledge, and provided some shortcuts as well.
The program also includes computer-based flashcards and games that will help improve your ability to quickly respond to questions.
Bottom line: If you can get past the sometimes-hokey presentation, this is one of the best study aids available. My score didn't increase by 100. It increased by almost 300. A great tool!

| Good Review, but lacking in math and analyticalThis is a good way to review, but it is much more focused on the verbal than I would like. Face it, the verbal is going to be the easiest to program. I also had an older Kaplan GRE book (1998) and the problems were the same. In fact, the book came with this software, or at least a standard version. Kaplan has pretty good reviews of the GRE, but makes a lot of assumptions about your math ability. The GRE states this is high school math, I checked and for me it was 5th grade through 9th grade. No wonder I was so rusty. One can only hope that GRE will come to their collective senses and take fractions off the test, so make sure you have up to date info on the math sections before you walk in. I really liked the simulation of the CAT GRE.

If you want help DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCTI was looking forward to using this product to study for the GRE. Installation of the product went fairly smoothly, by the way if you do decide to buy this product, make sure you choose Internet Explorer as your browser to use, it would appear even though you are given the option to use Netscape it won't work. It wasn't until I tried to use the product that the nightmare began. The program takes a long time to load; it appears to start quickly but none of the menus work. Wait a few minutes and the program will start asking you questions and guiding you around the program in a manner it sees fit, not what you might like to do. I should mention that I do not feel the slow performance of this product has anything to do with my computer. I have a workstation class computer system that far exceeds the system requirements for this software.
Some other things worth noting about this product is you may find you have to restart your computer after running the program. I found that after running the program my desktop and window preferences had changed, for example instead of my desktop color, a neutral gray, the desktop was black. There are only 3 full length and 18 section GRE tests. As for the portable flash cards, forget it. Don't think of them so much as flash cards, as a list of words on a sheet of paper with the definition next to the word. Oh and if you want Math flash cards just forget it as you can't print them. When I say you can't print them I don't mean my printer failed to print I mean the button to print flash cards disappears for the math flash cards but appears for the vocabulary cards. The last major grievance I have with this product is the interface. I don't know who designed this product but they must have been designing kindergarten software before this. The interface for a graduate admissions test prep program is a brightly colored animated cartoon, with occasional video of people talking superimposed on top. If you are like me, wishing to enter grad school, cartoons don't interest you anymore, you just want to be able to use the program, print flash cards, learn lessons and practice test without all the cartoons and bubbly brightly colored interface.
My recommendation is obviously not to buy this product, I would have really liked to give this product negative stars, and from what I have seen of other Kaplan products I would stay away from them as well. I wish I knew a no non-sense software program, I could recommend to help with preparing for the GRE. I have found the Princeton Review books helpful, but their CD's are not without problems as well, but far less than Kaplan's.
I should note that I own the CD-ROM version, but according to Kaplan's website it's the same software on the DVD as CD-ROM, so I felt I should post this review here as well.

| Very Helpful Study Tool for the GREI really found this study tool to be quite helpful in preparing for the GRE. It helped me significantly improve my scores. I followed the personalized study plan the program devised for me based on my performance on the diagnostic and my specified time table. Furthermore, I learned to master the nuances of the computer adaptive format of the GRE. Although the program is a bit juvenile at times with the cartoons and movies, it helps enliven the sometimes dull GRE content and lessons. I would definitely recommend this product.

| Worked great for the GREThe primary thing I would change about this program is the stupid cartoony interface and the constant need to hit ESC to forward through the little animations and movies. I also wish it came with a regular test booklet for the times when you want to get away from the computer.I used this product for the general GRE. I found the testing diagnostics helpful for developing a studying strategy, with which I was able to address my most serious weak points. I studied for about a month leading up to the GRE, and was very pleased with my score. The practice tests I took with this program gave me a really good sense of time and pace, and I was actually surprised when the real GRE ended at how much surplus energy I still had. Incidentally, I scored much better than the program had predicted I would, and likewise I found the practice questions slightly more difficult on the whole than the actual test. This is a good product for someone like me: a couple/few years out of college and eons since basic requirement classes, or someone who usually tests pretty well but who needs a crash refresher on standardized testing, or someone who is new to the computer-based test thing (I have a hard time thinking while looking at a screen). Caution though: I'd also recommend that this program be augmented with some good old book studying too, or you could be disappointed.

Best Program Out There For Really Learning Vocab for GREFirst off, let me say that I hate learning vocabulary. It is a tedious process, but a must for doing well on the GRE. When I was searching for a good vocab program, I knew I needed flashcards since I need to see something 10 times before I can remember it. What really bothered me was that a lot of GRE vocab books had the word and then a one or two word definition and then a short sentence. It really doesn't help me to remember the word and for the GRE you really need to know HOW to use the word, not just what it means. What I really liked about these GRE flashcards was that it had the word and on the back it had the definition for each possible use of the word (since each word can have multiple meanings) and they had several sentences using the word (not just one) that drove the point home. It helps you understand how to use the word and understand the different uses of the word - which really helps for the GRE since they try to trick you by using a word that typically is used in one way and then they ask it in a different context which means something else, so if you memorized just that common definition, you would have gotten it wrong.
The cons: There's a lot of programs out there that have games and stuff that makes the process a little less tedious, so if you're looking to have fun while studying, this program isn't for you. However, I find those activities to be time-wasting since they don't really help you understand how to use the word in different contexts, so IMHO I'd rather learn the word the boring way (brute memorization) and use my free time to watch TV.

It could have been a good productIf it was designed better. First, during lessons, there is this annoying voice over talking all the time. You cannot concentrate on reading. Then, the program is trying to be... funny. What for? GMAT is not a comedy. I want to study not laugh. Next - the lessons are designed very badly. You really cannot learn from them at all.
There is a room on the market for a good GMAT software, hopefully someone will make it. This is not it, thats for sure.
