| Helpful but not your only solution to pass!Kaplan GRE Exam Vocabulary in a Box those cards and this book helped when it came time to take my exam, but let me say these are no solution to passing. Study hard and study a lot, don't except this book and cards to be your only solution going into the exam cause you will fail. I give it a minus one (1) star (*) cause of the fact that the book was not to in depth, again this book was not meant to be your only solution but to help for anything you might of missed or to explain anything you might have forgotten. I have to say I did miss something that this book reminded me of and in the end helped out a lot. Passed this book to my friends with the cards and the loved it.
My niece 'passed' the exam!Great job done by this book. I bought it for my niece and she did very well on her exam... and received extra admission offers because of it!
What more can you say? It worked!
Can't use CD and poor customer serviceI bought the book, which is pricier than other GRE prep books, because it came with a CD that I thought would help me practice. After I opened the CD (i.e. now I can't return book), I found out that the CD won't work on Windows Vista or any operating system newer than 4-5 years old (MACs either). This is not indicated anywhere. I emailed the company's customer service link several times and got no response. I thought they would have addressed the issue by now and would send me info on how to access the CD. Apparantly they are only interested in you purchasing their materials, not using them. I can't imagine why they would sell an outdated CD with a book labled for 2010-2011. I may never know, they won't respond and I don't have an older computer to download their materials.
GRE study guideBook purchased for college daughter who is studying for GRE. Best available book. Comprehensive study guide with tests, online and inbook and a CD to follow along with. Most stores were out of stock of this popular book. Perhaps others are good as well but this one it right on the mark if you can locate it. It's a bit costlier than others as well.
Don't Bother.Honestly, I'm appalled at the disorganization reflected in the online companion sign-up process. You'd think that an "educational" organization could manage to create a product that makes sense, but I've been going in circles trying to register this online companion.
First of all, the website mentioned in the book makes no mention of the online companion registration, so after spending an hour scouring the site for it, I emailed customer service, only to be given a completely different web address. Now, it appears that my code has already been used. So, at the direction of the website, I called Customer Support. I should have known that would be fruitless, but I was shocked that a machine told me to go to the website and promptly disconnected the call. Really? You call this customer service?
Don't bother buying this book. Kaplan is obviously only interested in selling pricey classes.
