The Atlantis ProphecyThe Atlantis Prophecy is an intellectually stimulating adventure ride from start to finish. Conrad Yeats is an astro-archeologist who is racing against the clock and searching for clues throughout Washington DC, which he will use to prevent a prophetic warning made by President George Washington from being fulfilled. If he fails, it will be the death of America and the triumph of a group bent on world domination. Freemasons and their influence in the building of Washington DC, as well as their influence within the federal government, are an integral and fascinating part of the story.
I found this book to be very similar to Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol (published in September 2009) in both factual content and plot structure but with a much more satisfying conclusion--and it was published in April 2008. No copycat here. It was a fun read, as was the prequel: Raising Atlantis, and I think you will enjoy reading it as well. Now I'm on to the next and final book in the trilogy: The Atlantis Revelation.
good bookThe writer was very good, it is a very fast paced novel read it in about 2 days, It did remind me of the National Treasure movies though.
Sold Sequel! This one was exciting, though not as much so as the first book. Disappointingly, there were not many answers to the questions left hanging at the end of _Raising Atlantis_. Of course, new questions were added and I must admit, the the third book looks a little slim to have so many answers! I am looking forward to reading it though. Mostly, this book reminded me of the _National Treasure_ movies. All in all, this was an entertaining, though not enlightening, sequel.
Entertaining But Lacking OriginalityAfter reading Raising Atlantis, I was so excited when this finally came out after a long wait.
Expecting a continuation of the Atlantis storyline, I was greatly disappointed to see the obvious reinterpretation of themes clearly outlined in the motion picture National Treasure and Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code.
Conrad was always a chore to like but I found him even less likable in this one as he and Serena bumbled around finding clues to a myriad of conspiracies that seemed to permeate the American political system.
From the Free Masons to the Vatican to a loosely veiled reference to the Illuminati (the devious secret society), The Atlantis Prophecy rehashed many worn out theories and themes.
With my complaints noted, I have to say that Greanias definitely put together an action packed, exciting book that has a lot of historical references. I'm a sucker for such narratives.
I'm not really sure where Atlantis fit into this (it didn't), making it misleading for anyone who thought the title meant it was a novel on the lost continent.
I will say that I would recommend this for those who enjoyed the National Treasure story and want to read the same type of story.

Atlantis ProphecyI enjoyed both books, perfect summer read. The author put in interesting characters and fascinating history. I can't wait for the next one, and if he wants to do a movie I am one who will go see it.
